taking it out will just result in endless vca decay/ if both terminals are shorted, you should get some sound on accented notes though. maybe check between cathode c67 and the terminal of r52 connceted to +supply - if no reading, it's well possible that the resistor is fried. these terminals are sometimes annoyingly elusive when using a multimeter.
Starters orders 6 mods mod#
could well be that with either vca declick mod or gate on mode some part was fried.Īs for measuring r52, if power's off it doesn't make a difference if the part is in or not. could this be the source of my problem? i plan to remove the resistor (which scares me) to test it outside of the board.ah, okay, so if you have filter signal but nothing after that seems vca control is askew here.

I tested the resistance (with power disconnected) of the resistor at R52, where i attempted (then decided not to use) the VCA mod, and it doesn't seem to be resisting at all. tracing that back to the board (using the amazing, helpful schematics), it seems both D22 and R52 could have impacted that TP, correct? i did some testing, and i found the signal stops after tp5 (gate out). Unfortunatley, gs scales down pictures, so i can't see much resp rubber & c52 mod, but can take it from there when the problem's been narrowed down The through via at ffm (r47) can come off but that doesn't have an effect on the trace on the component side, so I'd assume all fine there If signal on both, there might be something ascew at the envelope/vca filter output cap (if signal, filter works) R52 Mod w/1M Pothey there & great this had you inspired - diy rulez!Īnd accidents can happen - try to find the schematics (in here and on my webpage) and test for signal at i'm not sure if this had an impact, but i attached to the front of the pcb after (before later removing to test). One last note - the r47 pad on the back of the pcb popped off almost instantly. any suggestions / advice would be greatly appreciated! thanks. i've attached pictures below, but here's what i attempted.

the machine powers on, but i get what sounds like a shot of air at each gate/note on message. I started my own mod, but lost sound somewhere in the process. thank you to all of the contributors! it's very inspiring. I've lurked around gs for years and finally joined due to this awesome collective project.
